It's that time of year to say some things

Hey, there listeners and friends!

It's Christmas Day, and in lieu of our regular episode, a few of us have shared some heartfelt season's greetings. We all appreciate every one of you, and though some of us are traveling or with family and couldn't record thoughts, know that we are each one grateful to each of you for listening, for sharing, for being a part of this labor of love. We hope your winter holidays are full of people you love and that 2018 is full of promise. Thanks for listening!

Tales from the Loop, Ottawa 1986

We livestreamed this on our twitch channel on 2017-06-25. Since Andrew is silly we lost about 6 minutes of audio, so he cut that bit out.

We're playing "Tales from the Loop" (2017) by Modiphius, and it's real rad.

That DnD Podcast says thanks!

Hey everybody! DM Chris here with a quick episode drop. It's not our normal episode, but we wanted to take the time to say thanks! And also to not have to do the super in depth audio editing that a normal episode takes. So yeah. Just so you know. We're thankful for you. Yes, you. Right there.

Merry crimmuh, happy holidays, and enjoy the upcoming new year! May we kick its ass instead of the other way around

Special Edition - The Dwarvenaut Interview

Hey all!

We interviewed the director and subject of soon-to-be-available documentary The Dwarvenaut, Josh Bishop and Stefan Pokorny. We had a lot of fun chatting with 'em.

The Dwarvenaut is out on VOD sites on the 5th of August.

Thanks for listening!

TDP Unplugged - Fiasco Night!

We didn't have enough folks for a regular session, so we decided to try something out of the ordinary. We booted up Tabletop Simulator on Steam and gave Fiasco a try! More specifically, we played the Dragon Slayers playset. Sit down for a bit and listen to what happens when a bunch of cocky murderhobos return triumphant to a town that wants absolutely none of their shit.

Also benches are a very popular weapon here? I dunno. It's a thing!

Join DM Chris, Andrew, Adam, and Bobby as they play a thief, a barbarian, a golem, and a pacifist. One of them has a terrible Jersey accent! (It's Chris. Such a garbage accent he does.)

Intro music is Low Horizon by Kai Engel

SPECIAL EPISODE: Scoundrel in the Deep

Hiya folks! DM Chris here with another special episode. In this one it's just me and special guest Patrick McCabe. You may know patrick from him being active across our various social medias! Or maybe you're related to him or know him not through us. Who knows?

ANYWAY, we are playing a game called Scoundrel in the Deep, a 2 player RPG that is played with matches rather than dice. I think it's a cool setup! Let us know what you think, and feel free to send us any recommendations for one-shot games, or other things like that!

Also, we are currently in need of 2 people for our listener campaign. Must have decent internet, a microphone, and the ability to run two internet tabs at once. If interested, let us know!

SPECIAL EPISODE: Party of One: Murderous Ghosts

Howdy, folks! This post is a special off-schedule one. DM Chris was recently a guest on the podcast 'Party of One'. Jeff explores the world of RPGs that are designed for, or can work with, two players. We played a game called Murderous Ghosts and, well, I won't spoil the end.

----------------

This was supposed to be an ordinary urban exploration. Greg planned on everything--he brought food, lights, his GoPro, everything. There's only one thing he didn't plan on: MURDEROUS GHOSTS. Can he escape a haunted factory without facing his worst fears and being consumed? Only time will tell.

Special Episode! Interview with Michael Witwer

Ever heard of Dungeons and Dragons? I would assume so, based on the fact that you're here reading the show notes on a liveplay D&D podcast. In case you haven't, though, it was started by Gary Gygax way back in the 70s.

Michael Witwer wrote a book chronicling the life of the king of all nerds. We convinced him (with sufficiently high diplomacy checks) to come on the show and answer some questions with us.

We will be having a giveaway of some copies of the book soon (maybe with other podcast swag? We shall see I suppose!)

Give it a listen and let us know what you think!
